PRC is a taluka panchayat level information cum resource centre to serve the panchayat representatives of a concerned taluka. PRC facilitates the linkage between PRIs, taluka level administration and departments and citizens. PRC is a civil society initiative in collaboration with the government for PRI capacity building. |

For legitimacy and recognition PRCs shall be located in the Taluka Office – Taluka Panchayat premises. |

The PRCs can be run by NGOs, Networks, Cooperatives, Universities who have thematic expertise on governance and field presence in the taluka. The operating cost of the PRCs will be provided to the implementing agencies from the BRGF Capacity Building Grant. |

Government has no obligation to continue appointment of the PRC staff. It is the responsibility of the implementing agency. A To R need to be developed at the Jilla Panchayat / DDO level for running the PRC. |

The activities of PRCs shall be governed by a committee consisting of Taluka Panchayat Chair Person, TDO, DDO and minimum two representatives from civil society, academia and prominent citizens. This team shall review and plan the activities and programmes of PRCs once in every two months. |

The PRC shall have a budget appropriately develop to cover three professional staff as mentioned above and other operating cost. It shall be so developed that after the BRGF programme is over the panchayats can cover the cost and continue the services of PRC. |
